iCanCope Privacy Policy

This privacy policy governs your use of the software application iCanCope (“Application”) for mobile devices that was created by the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and the University Health Network (UHN). iCanCope is an Android and iOS application that provides a pain self-management program for adolescents and young adults with chronic or acute pain. It has five key features: [1] self-tracking of pain and related symptoms (interference, sleep, mood, physical activity, energy) through an interactive diary, [2] goal-setting to improve pain and functioning, [3] pain coping strategies (e.g. deep breathing, relaxation), [4] social support through virtual community (restricted to app users), [5] pain education. There will be no alerts to healthcare professionals within the app. Some sections of the app may be customized based on the users disease type. Based on the data you enter and the status of your health, you will get feedback and self-care instructions. It is not intended to replace your current care, but to supplement it with additional support.
